The Udarata Menike Train is one of the most famous and scenic train journeys in Sri Lanka. It is known as the Udarata Menike Train and is a wonderful train that travels through the mountainous region of Sri Lanka. This train, which started on 23 April 1956, remains a popular service to this day.

This train, which runs daily from Colombo Fort Railway Station to Badulla, takes between 10 and 12 hours.  During this journey, the train travels about 290 kilometers through the mountain route, which is the main railway line of Sri Lanka.

The specialty of the Udarata Menike Train is the beautiful natural scenery that can be seen through it. This train journey, which passes through mountains, rivers, waterfalls, tea estates, mist-covered forests and rocky mountains, is also included in the most beautiful train journeys in the world. This beauty can be experienced very well especially when traveling through places like Kandy, Nanu Oya and Ella.
